Hey,

I was talking to my Mum and I think she's agreeing to me being able to get a Hookah to smoke Shisha with. I know you can get I think 3 hose Hookahs in Joynt Venture in the city for aprox. $100. but I don't know much about them and yeah, I was wondering where I could get a good Hookah and some good Shisha (Flavoured tobacco)

Any info would be awesome!

I asked this before but only got one a couple of answers, so what is you favourite Al Fakher shisha flavour? or list of your favourites? cos im going to qatar in a couple of weeks and want to stock up on some gooood flava's!

But I had coconut once, I don't know if it was Al Fakher though.

I've also had various fruit flavors mixed with 'rose' or 'rose water' flavor which were nice. Also cardamom flavor is nice mixed with fruits (like apple or peach) IMO

What is the best Al Fakher shisha?

my friends want to take me out to a hookah bar but i was wondering if hookah will make u fail a drug test?

A hookah is the water pipe through which the drug (usually just plain tobacco) is usually inhaled. It's not a drug.

Yes shisha is a drug (anyone who thinks nicotine isn't a drug is an idiot). However it is legal and will not show up on a standard drug test.

You can layer, but put the stronger flavor on the bottom.

A Bay Ridge lawmaker is pushing health legislation that would crackdown on the neighborhood’s 20-plus hookah bars and cafes.

The act, which was drafted last week by Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny (D–Bay Ridge), prohibits hookah hangouts from selling “shisha” to teenagers — even though owners swear that they never sell the flavored herbs to teens anyway.

Opponents of hookah shops say that the Arab-influenced cafes create a health hazard for teenagers, who are legally allowed to smoke the fruit-flavored stuff as long as it doesn’t contain tobacco.

“It’s important to understand that underage kids are not capable of evaluating the health risks that products like these present,” Brook-Krasny said.

That outlook was echoed by civic leaders, who said shisha is as trendy as it is risky.

“It’s a big fad; large groups of kids are always smoking on Fridays,” said Josephine Beckmann, district manager of Community Board 10. “But it should be restricted.”

Shisha is a mix of dried fruits, molasses, honey — and sometimes tobacco, although it’s often purchased without a label, making its contents unclear. in large quantities, it can cause lung cancer, with or without tobacco, studies show.

After an asthmatic Bay Ridge 14-year-old smoked shisha and passed out last year, parents began complaining to civic leaders about hookah bars, saying newbie smokers prefer the Middle Eastern custom because inhaling from a water-filtered pipe allows for a smoother toke.

City law already forbids smoking tobacco in restaurants and bars, but hookah establishments are able to bend the rules because detecting the difference between herbs and tobacco requires expensive testing that the Health Department says it can’t afford.

Naturally, Bay Ridge hookah bar owners say they haven’t been selling tobacco to minors — or shisha, for that matter.

“We don’t serve hookah to kids under 18 — only coffee,” said Ahmed Rizika, owner Al Basha Coffee, a teenage meet-up point on Bay Ridge Avenue near Third Avenue.

Other owners swore they turn teens away because they don’t want to risk making kids sick.

“We’re a family place; I wouldn’t take that risk,” said Marwan Dagher, owner of Le Sajj, a Lebanese restaurant on Fifth Avenue. “My food is number one.”

Existing state law prohibits the sale of tobacco products, herbal cigarettes and rolling papers to kids under the age of 18. The new bill specifically adds “shisha and smoking paraphernalia” such as “water pipes, hookah and vaporizer” to the list of no-nos.

Dear digi-scrappers! thank you for your comments! I really do like to read your comments, even if I don’t generally reply. I am also happy for the huge amount of response I have got, the Inky edges files alone has had over 1500 downloads already! so, I must say I am pleasantly surprised, and it encourages me to keep on posting. there is so much more in the pipe-line, click the link under the page header to see what I am currently up to. as you can see there are quite a lot of things left to make for the two kits I’m working on right now; “Garage” and “Goa”.
Here are some shisha mirrors. you can combine them, and edit them by using the Eraser tool, in Photoshop (on a copy of the file,of course!). I made the pink frame in the previous post, by combining these mirrors into a circle, but I thought it was quite tricky LOL.

What shisha flavours work well together?

Its pretty obvious I won't be allowed to smoke in my room, but is shisha allowed?

I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for a package of shisha on its' own. Smoking of any kind is banned for it is a fire hazard (incense is usually included in this) so if they find a hookah in your room, they'll usually take it.

Are you allowed to smoke shisha in your rooms at university?
